Easter Sunday April 12 2020
We are in for a wild ride! Temperatures will be warming up to the 60s and 70s today, but rain will develop mid to late afternoon. Easter Sunday this year will know for a severe storm and tornado outbreak across the Deep South this afternoon and evening. This will spread our way overnight and into Monday. Our region will have increased chance for damaging winds over 60 mph, large hail, increased risk for tornadoes, and coastal flooding along the Chesapeake Bay.
The abrupt drop in temperatures behind this storm may allow the next system to bring a mix with snow on Wednesday mooring.
SEVERE STORM RISK
Sunday
The worst weather will be in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. A larger area of the US will be impacted by severe weather today, and this will spread north and east tonight.

Monday
We have a slight risk for storms turning severe. We will have strong storms around sunrise, then again in the afternoon.
Wind Gusts
Morning
Gusts between 50 and 60 mph are possible.
Afternoon
Gusts up to 70 mph are possible with severe strorms along the cold front.
High Wind Watch
As of this morning, the Watch area appears to have a large hole missing over our region. I expect this will be filled in based on the forecast conditions.
