Tuesday March 31, 2020
I received a few questions from parents asking for daily weather information so their kids can keep a daily weather journal or for a school project.
As we remain in the COVID 19 shutdown for an indefinite amount of time, I would like help out. Posting a link on here my web site is one way. This article is a sample of what I can show, but I need your help to let me know what works.
Also: Please make sure you sign up (above or click here to sign up for email alerts…. ) for my newsletter. This way you will get an email to make sure you are notified of each post.
This is what has been requested:
Low Temp
High Temp
Rainfall Amount
Humidity
Dew Point
Front Type (Front types; Warm Front, Cold Front, Stationary Front)
Time of Sunrise
Time of Sunset
The best way I can do this is focus on Baltimore at BWI for the official station.
I will start with…
Yesterday’s Weather Data
Monday March 30
High = 73ºF at 2:22 PM
Low = 53ºF at 11:59 PM
Rainfall: Trace
Please note that humidity and dew point often change each hour like the temperature. These are not recorded as high or low, and can be arbitrary depending on the time you check.
You can get the hourly weather reports for the prior 72 hours at this link: Baltimore Weather at BWI Past 72 Hours
Today’s Weather
The get an idea of fronts or weather systems, we need a map. I have THREE versions here. Please let me know which works best:
- Regional (with annotation)
- Regional
- National
Weather Maps
1. Regional (with annotation)
Here I can mention what weather systems are affecting us. Today it is not a front, but the east wind AND the storm to the south.
2. Regional
3. National
