Thursday March 5 2020
The nation is still coming to grips with the tornado outbreak in middle Tennessee and Nashville. NWS released this statement about ‘one’ of the tornadoes that hit their region:
- EF-4 tornado (175 mph winds)
- 18 fatalities, 88 injuries
- 3 still missing
- Path and width will be determined in coming days
- First violent tornado in Nashville area since 4/10/2009
That boundary is long the Gulf of Mexico coast and will spin some severe storms there today. This will feed rain up the coast that will arrive here tomorrow. Also watch the colder system in the Northern Plains. This will try to phase, but it will be just off of the coast (to our east). We will get in on the edge of this to produce rain, then ix in snow Friday night. See the simulations below.

Temperatures
If you get in on the wet snow overnight, there may be. coating on the grass. But the roads re too warm and should not lead to stickage on the pavement. The only potential minor impact would be well west and north of Baltimore.
EXTENDED OUTLOOK
I will post the temperature and storm outlook later. There is a split about the potential for rain or snow at the end of next week. I want to see more info this morning before sharing that with you.
