Wednesday February 19 2020
Rain showers crossing the Eastern Shore this morning are part of the latest cold front. This will bring us two more cold days this week. But the southern end of that front will develop Low Pressure that bring snow to the Carolinas. This is an unusual event after a very unusual winter. But I am still not trusting the modeling. So southern Maryland needs to pay attention for the possible shift north Thursday evening.
Winter is not done yet. The outlook from NOAA brings in a colder start to March.

Thursday Snow
NAM 3 Km Model- This is the most aggressive of the bunch. It brings snow into southern Maryland Thursday evening. I keep showing this, because as I showed (on social media) yesterday, this models was wrong with Tuesday rain. It verified north of the forecast, so there is a track record to anticipate another shift.

Snow Potential
I picked the middle or the road model, but note the potential for this to shift north… At this time, that puts Southern Maryland on watch. It would take a lot more error to reach central Maryland, which is less likely.
Temperatures Friday
Outlook
The mid range shows only two days of cold air followed by a return to the mild winter. However, the longer range does show the expansion of colder air into our region for the start of March.
