Tuesday December 3 2019
The storm is moving off of the coast, but we have a widespread colder flow of air for a few days. Within this will be a few disturbances that can bring snow showers locally overnight and Wednesday afternoon.
I know this can be frustrating to keep hearing about snow showers if your area does not get it, but that is often the case in winter (Dec – Feb). The northern and western suburbs often catch more flakes in the hills, and some of them could get a fresh coating tonight. Meanwhile a Winter Weather Advisory is in place for Garrett County as they could get 3 inches of snow or more over the next two days.
Headlines
- Today: Chilly winds gust to 35 mph.
- Western MD- Garrett County: Winter Weather Advisory for up to 3″ snow.
- Tonight: Snow showers may coast the ground between Frederick MD to York and Lancaster PA.
- Wednesday: Afternoon Snow/Rain Showers.
- Weekend warming up a little.

I am trying something different here and I hope it is easy to view. The font is smaller, but here are the station reports showing the temperatures in black, wind chill in red, and wind barbs mostly between 5 and 10 mph so far.

Wednesday Afternoon Showers
A mix of snow showers and rain will pass through between 3 and 5 PM. There may be more flakes around metro Baltimore, but the surface temps will melt any that reach the ground.
Temperature Outlook
The trend is to warm up over the weekend and early next week. After one person said this is not how Decembers use to be, I looked at the history books.
The record high in Baltimore on Monday Dec 9 was 73ºF in 1966. That winter of ’66-67′ brought 43.4″ of snow. The mild surges are mixed with snow in winters throughout our history… #FITF

NEW FITF GEAR THIS YEAR
- Thanks to Shannon (weather wife) who wanted to bring these hats to life. *Mustard is her favorite color
- The Maryland Hoodie is high quality and a new way to show off our love of Snow and State.
- The T-shirt… Something you may find familiar. Why just a T? Because many schools I visit have the heat on high for faculty and staff. But you can put a long sleeve underneath for cool look. I will have wifey model these soon 🙂
