Happy Thanksgiving Nov 28 2019
A classic wind machine is cracking this morning thanks to a large storm in New England. This has raised the concern for the balloons in the Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Their limit is 23 mph or gusts to 34 mph. As of post time the decision to fly is a go, but that can change if winds exceed the limit.
Locally we have a Wind Advisory across much of the area with gusts to 50 mph. The High Wind Warning in the mountains for gusts to 60 mph. Southern PA wil experience this like the rest, but for some reason the NWS Office in State College did not include York, Lancaster, or Harrisburg.
The winds will ease this afternoon as the mild temperatures remain. The colder air spills in tonight. This weekend will be colder, capped by a chilly rain Sunday for the Ravens game. This may begin with ice or snow well north of the city before sunrise. More snow and ice in the Poconos and metro New York could impact the travel home.

NEW FITF GEAR THIS YEAR
- Thanks to Shannon (weather wife) who wanted to bring these hats to life. *Mustard is her favorite color
- The Maryland Hoodie is high quality and a new way to show off our love of Snow and State.
- The T-shirt… Something you may find familiar. Why just a T? Because many schools I visit have the heat on high for faculty and staff. But you can put a long sleeve underneath for cool look. I will have wifey model these soon 🙂
Looking Ahead
Sunday will be chilly and wet. There could be some brief snow and ice well north of Baltimore at sunrise. There could be travel problems in the Poconos and metro New York during the day.
Baltimore Ravens game will be wet, but steady rain will ease to showers as temps remain in the lower 40s
