Tuesday November 19 2019

Rain fell overnight and has already departed. But the moisture has left us with areas of fog and low visibility. After starting the month very cold with an average temperature 5 DEGREES below ‘normal’, we will be trending mild for most of the next week.  The long range outlook brings the cold back around Thanksgiving weekend, but until then we get a break. However, the system this weekend that brings us rain, could produce ice and snow in the mountains in western Maryland and central PA.

Looking Ahead

Rain will arrive on Friday afternoon and evening. A second wave of rain on Saturday will come with colder air.  This will bring ice in the mountains of western Maryland and central Pennsylvania. This may end with an ice and snow mix as close as Harrisburg.

Friday Rain

Rain will develop later in the morning and last into the evening.

Saturday Rain/Ice West and North

Rain for most areas in our region. But ice could be a travel issue between Cumberland, Frostburg, and Deep Creek Lake. In PA, snow and ice around State College, will eventually turn from snow to a wintry mix closer to Harrisburg by evening.

NEW FITF GEAR THIS YEAR

  • Thanks to Shannon (weather wife) who wanted to bring these hats to life.  *Mustard is her favorite color
  • The Maryland Hoodie is high quality and a new way to show off our love of Snow and State.
  • The T-shirt… Something you may find familiar. Why just a T? Because many schools I visit have the heat on high for faculty and staff. But you can put a long sleeve underneath for cool look.  I will have wifey model these soon 🙂
