Saturday October 5 2019

It may be a shock to the system as many have dropped into the 40s and even some 30s this morning. This was not as chilly as some models had predicted, but a 40 to 50 degree contrast to record heat we had just a few days ago.  Here was how the temperatures stacked up at 7 AM, and some of those 30s did show up in central Maryland, but if there was frost, it was minimal.

High Pressure is in control and will make for a sunny and cool autumn day. The next weather event will arrive over the next few days in the form of a slow moving front. This will help to boost temperatures ahead of it, and maybe bring some showers later Sunday on the west and north zones. But the rain will arrive Monday into Tuesday. However, there may be a sharp cut off for where the benefits fall.

Rain Outlook

Slow moving front brings in rain Monday into Tuesday, but not for all of our region. The best chance for rain to arrive sooner will be in western MD and PA.  Then metro areas on Monday. But this will cut off sharply south and east of Annapolis.

Rainfall Potential

Rainfall could top 1/2 inch, but there is a distinct drop off south and east of Annapolis.
