Tuesday September 24 2019

A cold front passed through and will take some of the out of the air, but we will remain in a move average pattern into next week.  On Monday, autumn began with a high of 95ºF at BWI.  That may be enhanced by the construction as we have discussed, but still below the record of 98ºF set in 1970. At least we will not even be close to the record today. Most of the region will reach the upper 70s, but BWI is likely to hit 80ºF.

Morning Temperatures

Just a hint of the cooler air this morning, but you will notice the difference during the day

The pattern remains dry with little hope for showers this weekend, and then much of next week. Rain will ride around our region, and the latest two tropical storms will stay well offshore. But Bermuda is in the crosshairs from both Jerry and Karen.

Tropical Storms

Tropical Storm Jerry has winds of 60 mph and is expected to hit Bermuda tomorrow.

Tropical Storm Karen has winds of 40 mph, but will bring flooding rain to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands today. This will head north and pass on the east side of Bermuda this weekend.

Lack Of Rain Animation

The dry pattern continues through the weekend. The chance of rain will bring some scattered showers. But mostly in the mountains. Still nothing organized for a while.
