Monday August 12 2019

We have a really nice day ahead,  but severe storms are likely tomorrow. This is the perfect time for me to jump back onto my weather routine after a full week of Maryland Trek 6. I want to thank you for your support for my mission and team. As of this morning we have raised over $95,000 for Just In Power Kids to provide free holistic care for kids in and post cancer treatment. My wife and I will have a full wrap up shortly.

Weather Today

High Pressure is in control and will bring another nice day. Temperatures will be warm, but bearable. Upper 80s to near 90ºF in urban areas. But the next cold front is strong and will arrive tomorrow with the risk of severe storms.

Severe Storm Risk Tuesday

The Storm Prediction Center has most of our region in the Enhanced Risk for severe storms on Tuesday. This could mean another round of damaging winds, large hail, flash flooding, or tornadoes.  As of now the risk may be later in the day for urban areas and towards the evening or at night for Delmarva and the beaches.

I will have a more detailed assessment of the storm timing in my next report. I do not think this NAM 3 Km model is capturing the development properly yet.

This ICON Model shows timing Tuesday evening and night, but diminishes the intensity for Delmarva and the beaches.
