July 19 2019

The worst of the heat dome is here. An Excessive Heat Warning is in place for most of our area today, Friday. This means that with temperatures in the 90s, it will FEEL LIKE 105ºF to 115ºF. It is likely that we will have this type of weather through the weekend, but likely will not break the 89 year old heat wave still on the books.

Not A Record:

The record high for this date in Baltimore is 103ºF back in 1930. In fact this is the start of a 3-Day record stretch that year lasting into the weekend that we will likely not break.

  • July 19 Record High 103ºF in 1930
  • July 20 Record High 102ºF in 1930
  • July 21 Record High 104ºF in 1930

Surface Weather

The ‘dome’ of High Pressure will limit clouds and storms of any brief relief. The low wind speed will allow the heat to just sit and build. We may get some late day or overnight thunderstorms over the weekend, but the best chance for relief will be later Sunday and Monday.
