Monday April 1 2019

It may be the first of April and you expect to be fooled all day. This report is legit, but the weather may feel like a joke. After spending part of the weekend in the 70s, we start this morning, the new week, and new month of April near or below freezing. Strong winds are making it less comfortable and there are wind restrictions on the bridges with gusts to 35 mph.

The good news is that the winds will ease up this afternoon, but the chilly air will stay with guys through Tuesday.  There is one catch with a coastal storm that might try to bring showers in Tuesday afternoon, but then we get to wait until Friday for the next wave of rain.

The ups and downs of spring will continue this next week. April starts cold, but will warm up after a few days. The next rain event will arrive at the end of the week, but next weekend should bring back dry weather, just cooler.

Will It Rain?

The European Model brings in a developing coastal storm with some showers Tuesday afternoon and evening. However many other models keep that storm off shore as it passes by Wednesday.

If this verifies, the best chance for rain will be in the afternoon for southern Maryland and the lower Eastern Shore to southern Delaware. Only a few showers farther north. Again, this is not in agreement with other models.

The GFS Model shows that storm well offshore as it passes Wednesday, but brings in the next wave of rain Friday… keeping showers around into Saturday
