Friday March 8 2019

Timing is everything with snow in March and this event will be arriving later. This will allow the ground and air to warm enough so that that should not be much more than ambience. In fact, the slight delay in the arrival may mean more rain mixing in for central Maryland… But there is still some snow expected and it will last into the evening.

This was never expected to be an impact event. It was expected to the first in two, with the second round over the weekend bringing rain and warmer temps.  Here’s a quick look:

Temperatures

  • It really is 10ºF in York with most of southern PA in the teens. It’s a different climate there as 3 to 5 inches of snow is still on the ground.
  • Much of central Maryland is starting in the mid 20s.
