Strong winds blew through with the cold front late Sunday afternoon, but another surge of wind erupted overnight. It was strong enough to wake many of us up and knock down many trees. Power outages are growing and there may be more. Winds are expected to be even stronger after sunrise, which is why The National Weather Service has upgraded central Maryland with a High Wind Warning after 7 AM.

High Wind Warning:

The expanded area after 7 AM includes:

Harford, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Howard, and Montgomery Counties in Maryland.
Wind Advisory for southern Maryland and Delmarva until this afternoon.

Top Winds Sunday Evening

The mountains have seen the strongest winds with numerous reports of downed trees, crushing damage, and power outages.

Snowshoe, WV reaching 88 mph. That is at an elevation of 4848 Ft.
Hagerstown, MD = 62 mph
Cumberland, MD = 61 mph
Frostburg, MD = 58 mph
BWI = 48 mph
