Temperatures this morning are mild as we are on the edge of the next weather system. Rain is falling in southern Maryland. While it will stay south today, it will move in to our area on Saturday. This will develop during the afternoon and spread across our entire region Saturday night and into Sunday.

This storm will bring us up to 1 inch of rain, which on top snow melt and soggy ground will make from some flooding. It will also warm us into the 60s on Sunday. But that comes with the price tag of strong winds…which could reach the 50 to 60 mph range.

Many waking up with temps in the 40s. Rain is falling south of Washington through southern Maryland and Virginia.

Weekend Storm

Rain will try to develop during the afternoon. We should have it cover most or all of our region by evening.
High Winds: The tightly packed isobars (black lines) indicate this following the storm. We will get the first surge Sunday morning, but high winds last into Monday.

This has been issued by NWS State College and Pittsburgh.
The NWS Office in Sterling VA has not issued one yet for central Maryland, but I expect they are considering it.
