Temperatures are heating up again, but nothing like what happened in our region nearly a century ago. On this date in 1936, Baltimore reached the highest temperature on record with a high of 107ºF. This came after a morning low of 81ºF, and setting the record high a day earlier at 103ºF. It was an oppressive heat spell in a very hot summer. It was something that may resemble what we had back in 2012, but thankfully did not replicate.

Today we will just be aiming for the mid 90s and while a cold front will swing through tonight, it looks to be very limited on rain chances for us. The other main story is Tropical Storm Chris. That has churned up rip currents for the beaches, but it will begin to move away from the coast as it strengthens to a hurricane today. See more below.
