Heavy rain has already erupted early this afternoon and prompted Flash Flooding in Baltimore and Hartford Counties. Doppler Radar is showing heavy rain moving over the same areas. This is called training. Some places around Perry Hall and White Marsh have received over 3 inches of rain in less than 2 hours. If you saw my morning report, this confirms the HRRR Model earlier solution. So let’s stick with that here. A new radar simulation slider is posted below. This shows the flare up of storms that will continue this afternoon, evening, and tonight. Gradually this will work south into metro Washington and Annapolis… and reach the beaches overnight.

Flood Warning and Advisories

A Flood Watch until midnight covers much of southern Pennsylvania, central Maryland, and Delmarva.  While Frederick and Carroll Counties are not listed, there will be storms worth watch there as well.

An Area Flood Warning until 7:45 PM covers much of eastern Baltimore and southern Hartford Counties. This is for the heavy rain in place already and the drainage of the current flooding.

Flood Flood Warning until 5 PM

Up to 2 inches of rain has fallen in some spots. The most prone areas to flooding now include:

Middle River, Cockeysville, Aberdeen, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Towson, Bel Air South, Essex, Parkville, Bel Air North, Carney, Perry Hall, Mays Chapel, Timonium, Fallston, Riverside, Hampton,
Kingsville, Pleasant Hills, Perryman and Lutherville-Timonium.
