Monday July 24
There will be heightened awareness and anxiety today following the likely tornado that hit Kent Island early this morning. Storms will develop and there is a marginal risk one or two turn severe, so they are worth watching closely. I say likely tornado based on Doppler Radar and damage photos, but it will not be official until the National Weather Service completes an on sight investigation. But there will be more storms to track later today…
It appears that while the region is under a marginal risk, the radar simulation suggests the energy will ride north of Washington and most likely between Baltimore and York. This is just a suggestion and not a guarantee. There will be thunderstorms, but a small portion will have a small chance to reach severe limits: These include winds of 60 mph, large hail, local flash flooding, and/or an isolated tornado The storm this morning was not well identified, so there are some that slip through the cracks or take a different track. This time will be during the daylight hours of 3 and 9 PM.
