Monday July 10

Today is the anniversary of the hottest temperature every recorded in Baltimore. It was 107ºF on July 10 in 1936. Thankfully we will not be close. But this is climatologically the warmest week of the year and it will live up to its billing. Yes, it is supposed to be hot in July, but the combination of humidity in what has been a rather tranquil start to summer is the big story.

Enjoy today since it will be the last comfortable day of the week. Our storm threat is low, but will increase Tuesday with the building heat. Since there is not much organization to the storms, it will be something to track as they build each day. At this point we can only point to the region wide risk… and that will be higher on the north side in PA

The energy will be north in Pennsylvania, but a line of storms could slip into central Maryland Tuesday evening.

Peak Of The Heat

The hottest day of the week should be Thursday… As we reach the upper 90s, some places could top 100ºF. Our heat index is likely to be in triple digits widespread.
