Tuesday June 13

Today will be the hottest day of this stretch. Baltimore hit 94ºF on Monday, which was not a record, but Washington DC did set one with a high of 95ºF. Today we crank up the heat another notch or two. The record mark for BWI will be 97ºF set in 1956.  Then we can stop talking about this for a bit, as a cold front will arrive from the north.

The humidity today will be noticeably higher and there could be some showers pop up in the afternoon. A better chance of showers and storms tomorrow as the cooler air arrives. High Pressure from Canada will slide off of the east coast shifting our winds and keeping our temps in the upper 70s for a few days. By the weekend we will rebound to the 80s and bring in a better chance of showers and storms. Yes, this could affect the Firefly Music Festival. I would not cancel Fathers Day plans yet. However stronger storms will be more widespread early next week.
