Saturday June 10

A band of showers in central Pennsylvania this morning will spread clouds into Maryland. But this is al that stands from the heat wave about to develop.  This doppler radar image at 8 AM shows the spotty nature of the rain, so when you compare it to the first image in the slide show you can see the HRRR Model is overdone (again). I just wanted to show that the showers will be fading, then the heat will be building.

Today temperatures will range from the mid 80s to neat 90ºF. Then we continue to warm, with upper 90s and heat index values over 100ºF by mid week.  The next system will arrive by Wednesday or Thursday with rain and thunderstorms. I should point out that often we extend the heat and delay the arrival of rain… that is why Wednesday is on the fence. But the end of the week and part of Fathers Day Weekend will be dealing with showers and cooler temps.
