Saturday June 3 –
There was a band of showers this morning, but overall we expect an improved weather set up for our weekend as the bulk of our rain will hold off until Monday. There is still plenty to discuss, but first I wanted to share an incredible time lapse video of a tornado in Alberta, Canada. Vance Neudorf captured this on Friday at Three Hills where you can see a distinct inflow of dirt being brought up to the cloud base above. Check this out:
Our Weather
This morning a band of rain slipped south from Pennsylvania into Harford and Cecil County in Maryland. It wasn’t heavy, but should be noted that it highlighted the computer modeling error. Compare the Doppler Radar at 7 AM with the short range modeling showing the rain band off by more than 50 miles.

HRRR Model Forecast for 7 AM
Off by 50 miles
This is important because the short and mid range models have been poor to plot rain recently, so looking at the potential for showers this afternoon. We might have to shift the line farther south.

High Temperatures
We are still splitting our region with low 80s from Baltimore and southward… but southern PA should stain the 70s
Next Storm….
The timing has shifted back again. So much of our weekend should be dry. The bulk of the rain threat will be Monday. I need to point out the modeling error again, so this rain band location is likely to be off by 50 to 100 miles. Needless to say, cooler air will return Tuesday. Highs may struggle to get into the 70s a few days next week.
