Sunday May 28 –

Memorial Day Weekend continues with the same risk of rain.  Off the heels of a day that brought more rain to parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania that they wanted, we started today with thick fog.  That is a signal of more moisture in the air, and the sun already breaking through points to the weather feeling a little more humid as temperatures reach back into the mid 70s. The big questions for countless BBQs will be the threat of rain.

There will be some spotty showers.  But plan:

South of Rt 50: Southern Maryland, central and southern Virginia – Showers and T’Storms are expected any time after 12 Noon.

North of Rt 50 – Central- There may be showers mid afternoon, but the best chance will be after 7 PM

Northern Maryland and Southern PA – Showers will be spotty between noon and 4 PM, then a larger and strong push of storms will arrive aft 8 PM.

I hesitate to show the short range models due to the poor performance lately, but it is all we have to anticipate timing and track of cells.   So I scrutinized the two I use daily, and it looks like the NAM 3Km has a handle on the showers this morning, so let’s roll with it.  Here is the comparison of the radar at 8 AM to the first time stamp in the slider below.
