Monday May 15 – Now that the storm is gone, we will come close to verifying the notion that our area can get all four seasons in as many days. We are just missing winter. The warm up that beings today takes us back close to normal, with afternoon temperatures approaching 70ºF. I am chaperoning my son’s field trip and trying to plan for what to wear is a bit of a chore given the chilly morning in the 40s and that this afternoon will be warmer in the sun, but a chilly breeze will be felt in the shade for sure. We won’t have to worry about that tomorrow as temps climb. But like a snap of your fingers, Wednesday and Thursday will bring summer heat. Yes, it will be that quick, and likely to be followed by a few days with afternoon thunderstorms. Sadly, not as much confidence for net weekend. Preakness Saturday could get wet. It all depends on the timing of the next storm, and this time of year I do not trust long range models. Check it out

Next Storm
Notice the timing…. I can not go with a dry Saturday at this time. We have a trend of wet ones, plus that storm is too close to ignore. All it takes is a slight adjustment of movement now to shift the entire outlook a full day by the time it arrives.
- Friday: Afternoon/Evening Thunderstorms
- Saturday: Watch that storm closely… It may reach us or send showers not tracked well on modeling today
- Sunday: Wet

Our 3 year anniversary of the release and our contribution to STEM education is this November. It has been downloaded in 60 countries, and works in both temperature scales. With your support we can expand on the fun introduction to science and real weather.
