Monday May 1 – Maybe it’s May that comes in like a lion? We start off this morning with widespread fog, but that should burn off mid morning…. for most areas by 9 AM. With a little bit of sun and warm winds ahead of a strong front, temps should reach the 80s. Then we watch for a turbulent evening. The same system that was responsible for killing a dozen people this weekend and snow in Denver will be charging our way. Our enhanced risk of severe storms does include the potential for tornadoes and large hail, as well as damaging winds. The timing should be this later this evening and tonight. The radar may get active this afternoon, but most of the action will be after sunset. See more below:

Winds will be turning aloft, known as wind sheer. This is what will bring the best chance for storms becoming and maintaining severe limits
Next Storm
A larger event with heavier rain will arrive by Friday. That will mark a much cooler set up into next weekend. Temps may struggle to reach the 60s in some spots.

Storm Smart: My STEM Assembly Program
Click here to see the details and how this educational program is also a fundraiser for schools. We can start scheduling for May now.
Get the award winning Kid Weather App I made with my oldest son and support our love for science, weather, and technology. Our 3 year anniversary of the release and our contribution to STEM education is this November. It has been downloaded in 60 countries, and works in both temperature scales. With your support we can expand on the fun introduction to science and real weather.
