March 28 – The day started with a cluster of thunder and lightning moving through Carroll County and into southern PA. There is more where that came from and your commute will likely already have wet roads. The warm air has pushed in and the energy in the atmosphere will keep the pulse of moderate to heavy rain much on and off much of the day. The Low Pressure will ride through central Maryland, which often means the bulk of the severe storm risk will be to the south. We still will have some thunderstorms with potential for dangerous lightning and heavy downpours.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has highlighted a marginal risk for storms to turn severe as close as southern Maryland, eastern Virginia and North Carolina. The nation’s eyes will be on a stronger, separate system to almost promise destruction in Texas and Oklahoma. Those locations have the best chance for large hail and tornadoes.

Periods of moderate to heavy rain can reduce visibility at time. Also, even without any severe warnings, lightning can be dangerous at anytime.
