Friday January 20 – Today will bring rain to Washington with the heaviest at the start of the presidential inauguration and the rest of our area mid day, but the sun may show this afternoon. This will be a quick moving system, only to be followed by a larger storm that could last for a few days.  The entire pattern will be changing back to the winter we expect, with colder the confirm your Faith in the Flakes. But I show the chance for snow, here is a look at the first two systems.

Temperatures At Noon

It will be chilly, but still above average for the outdoor event today

The heaviest rain is expected to reach Washington around noon. President Elect Donald Trump had a sense of humor about the weather saying last night that he doesn’t care if it pours or not, because then people will see that it really is his own real hair.  We might just see that get soaked….

Pattern Change

Behind this storm, colder air will spill in. The front is expected to stall to our south for a day or two…. Just like our prior events, there is a model error with systems verifying farther north. Should that happen again, we could have a chance of snow Thursday in parts of our area. That is a big if. I would hold out for a better chance next weekend.

Much Colder Next Weekend
