December 27 – The active storm pattern continues with a track to our north leaving us on the warm side. However like prior events colder air will follow and there will be enough moisture to tap into that for two chances of snow showers before the end of the year. This morning, winds aloft at 5,000 Ft will be cruising over 60 mph helping to pump in warmer air and highs into the 60s. Frederick and Washington Counties in Maryland have a Wind Advisory until 10 AM for ridge tops that could have gusts to 50 mph. m The Military Bowl in Annapolis will have a wet warm and wet start, but the afternoon will show some clearing as temps drop through the 50s.

The next system will develop along the cold front after it passes to our south, allowing snow on our north side and a wintry mix around Baltimore Thursday. The cold air that follows will bring an upper level disturbance and a chance of Lake Effect snow showers Friday. Here’s a quick look at the roller coaster on the weather maps.
