Wednesday December 14 – The leading edge of the really cold arctic air is on the way. The Polar Vortex to our north will spill in overnight with a chance of flurries. By Thursday morning, wind chills will be in the single digits and stay there all day. Winds will gust to 25 mph while temps stay in the 20s. Wind chills will approach zero on Friday morning. After midnight Friday we will get light snow and the ground will be cold enough for stockage. It will be the gradual warming that will change this to freezing rain during Saturday morning. So plan for ice on the roads to start the weekend.  There may be a few inches on the ground before the change over. Then rain by afternoon.  The latest modeling supports cold air returning Sunday that could change this back to a wintry mix during the Ravens game and perhaps some more accumulating snow Sunday night. Here’s the latest:

Temperature Outlook

Note the warm up with the storm then colder again. The Christmas set up has temps near average, not the blowtorch warming we had last year.
