Flurries Or Light Snow And The Arctic Air Moving In

Thursday December 8 – A disturbance is moving through ahead of the arctic air. There is a band of flurries and sprinkles this morning, but warmer air will build from a frosty start as rain will crass southern Maryland. Then temps will crash tonight. This will set the stage for a very cold Friday and chance of snow to end the weekend into Monday. I touched on this systems in my prior post, and will have more later today. The GFS Model forecast still has light snow near and north of Baltimore and what could be interesting is the chance of snow for the Ravens Monday night game against the Patriots.

Winds wil be gusting between 25 and 35 mph….

Snow Chances

Friday = Flurries or Snow Showers

Support in the jet stream to carry snow showers over the mountains. This vort max is the peak spin aloft that is like a mini-low pressure increasing lift in the air.

Flurries or Snow Showers during the day, with the nest chance in the afternoon and evening.

End Of Weekend Event

I will have more on this later today, but the GFS Model still showing two pieces. Sunday light snow or flurries. Then Monday morning a light snow or icy mix changing to rain locally. The system could bring snow or and icy mix Monday nigh to eastern New England for the Ravens game against the Patriots.

Temperature Outlook

This GEFS Ensemble shows a warm up early next week, but that is all based on the storm track and subject to change. The next surge of arctic air to follow will be even colder
