Tuesday December 6 – The next system will gradually move in from the south this morning, but by this afternoon you will know for sure that it is here. This complex system will be developing a secondary, stronger Low Pressure moving off the coast to our south. This will enhance the rain and bring in colder winds.
While temperatures will remain above freezing, the onset could bring sleet, and the end will bring an icy mix or wet snow to the mountains to our northwest. The colder air that will follow will bring in the chance of Lake Effect snow showers crossing the mountains and bringing us flakes on Friday. Here is the hourly timeline:
Simulated Radar: HRRR Model —> slider
*May start as sleet in central Maryland and southern PA. A wintry mix more likely in western MD and mountains of VA/WV
