Monday Nov 21 – The strong cold front and upper level Low now in New England responsible for the cold wind over the weekend is still doing its thing. The pressure gradient between that system and High Pressure in Ohio is keeping the winds howling, and today could gust up to 45 mph from the West Northwest. So the Wind Advisory has been extended to 5 PM for much of the area, but 7 PM on parts of Delmarva.
The winds will gradually subside over the next two days, then shift direction ahead of the next system. Wednesday will be the calmest day for wind this week. If you have travel plans for Thanksgiving, expect rain in the evening or at night, with snow and ice reaching northern PA and western New York. Then as we get rain into mid day on Thanksgiving, snow will blanket northern New York and parts of New England.
