Tuesday November 15 – The little coastal storm moving to the north has brought us just enough rain overnight and this morning to make the roads wet. It’s enough to slow traffic, but not nearly enough to make a dent in growing drought concerns. The day will improve and the sun should show this afternoon. Much of this week will be mild with high temps in the 60s… but a big change is on the way this weekend. In fact, the cold air mass and pattern change on the way will open the Lake Effect snow machine. Most of the snow will be in the mountains of western Maryland and West Virginia with stickage and some accumulation. Some flurries could push into parts of metro Baltimore Sunday and Monday.

Weekend Snow?
The Canadian Model is much more aggressive with the snow locally. I will dig into this more tomorrow. But here is a look at the extensive push of cold air that will keep the flakes in western Maryland for a few days. If you are visiting Deep Creek Lake this weekend, it will look wintry. I am planning a trip into the mountains to show it off. If we get flurries locally it would be Sunday and Monday, but no stickage here. FITF
Pattern Change- Temperatures
Most of this week will be warmer than average, but the abrupt change will arrive this weekend. Modeling is catching on to the drop with highs into next week in the 40s and lows near or below freezing.
