Rain Timeline Today And Mountain Snow This Weekend

Rain Timeline Today And Mountain Snow This Weekend

Monday November 14 – There is a little storm that will be rolling up the coast today into tomorrow. The optimal word is little, but considering how dry we have been… any rain will be a good thing. Since September 1, Baltimore’s BWI is -2.90 inches of rain compared with average.  That is why many area reservoir water levels are looking mighty low. If we can squeeze 0.25″ of rain out of this, it will be a good thing. The hyper local forecast model splits two bands of rain west and east of metro Baltimore. So the initial push may not hit everyone today.  However, an upper level piece of energy will trail behind the storm and bring in the second band of rain. Tuesday morning. See how that times out below.

The next weather story (after and end of week warm up) will be the cold air this weekend. That should bring Lake Effect snow to the mountains of western Maryland, PA, and West Virginia. I have already made my plan to go out and chase the first flakes.

Looking Ahead:

This is the weather map for Sunday showing the fresh cold air mass and snow reaching the mountains. This may produce a few inches out by Snowshoe and Wisp.
