Rocket Launch Update and Record High Temps

Rocket Launch Update and Record High Temps

Monday October 17 – We in deep into autumn and yet temperatures will feel like late summer this week. Despite the fog and some low clouds you may experience this morning, the sky will clear and make for another sunny warm afternoon. It will be the next few days where we may set new record highs. But the warm weather will also make for a bonus to view the Anteres rocket launch from Wallops Island Flight Facility. There was a postponement, but today is the day we expect the sky show.

Liftoff at 7:40 PM

Look southeast, to the right of where the sun rises for the streak of light in the sky.

Record High Temps?

The surge of warm weather will dominate the nation today as a ridge of High Pressure has pushed the jet stream well to the north. The bottom will fall out as temps will crash this weekend.  But until then, check out the local temps that should set new records.
