Tuesday May 17- We have another wet day ahead and it looks like the pattern will continue with heavier rain in southern Maryland while it breaks up sooner north of Baltimore in southern Pennsylvania. This was our expected day of rain this week, but there is one thing I might have been wrong about. Temperatures might stay in the 50s in Baltimore, so there is one more chance for the record tying 7 days below 60°F for May. There may be rain Wednesday morning, but it won’t end up a wet day. This weekend however we are in for a stronger event. A developing storm will arrive Saturday morning and Preakness looks like a mud fest, but the latest modeling shows the storm moving out and not staying off the coast for a few days. Here are the maps:
Tuesday Rain: Simulated Radar –> slider
- There might be rain Wednesday morning, but the afternoon should show improvement.
- Thursday and Friday look dry.
Stormy Saturday: Preakness Washout –> slider

Temperatures:
The rain today might keep temps in the 50s in Baltimore. If this happens, it will tie 1882 for the most 50 degree days for May. We still expect a warming trend after the next storm, but Saturday will be chilly under that rain.
