April 10 2016: “There’s a new Mother Nature taking over“. Well, actually that song from The Guess Who showed up on my Pandora yesterday and it seems to fit. “She’s getting us all“. After the snow yesterday (I have more photos to share later) spread through southern Maryland and even postponed the Orioles game, this morning we had our Freeze. It could have been worse as temps were expected to get close to the record of 22°F but dropped to 27°F at BWI. Southern Maryland farms still had to deal with the cold and many early fruit crops have fallen victim. This morning’s temps were very close to freezing, but not as cold as expected. We are now about to turn the corner.
“No use callin’ ’cause the sky is fallin’
And I’m getting pretty near the end”
A few days of rain will start the work-week, then we will have a warm up back to where we belong.for reference, here are the April 10 averages for Baltimore:
- Lo 41°F
- Hi 62°F
Irony: On this date 3 years ago, the record high was set in Baltimore. BWI hit 91°F in 2013.
Forecast High Today
We will have sun, but it will remain at least 10 degrees colder than it should be.
