Snow Showers And Strong Winds Then Warming Up

Radar755January 29 – Today were are caught in between a very strong developing storm over the Atlantic and the upper level energy from the Great Lakes trying to catch up to it. The timing is about 12 to 18 hours off, or we would have had a close call with a second blizzard. But instead we get strong winds pulling into that storm, which is enough for a Gale Warning on the coast.  The snow showers in the mountains will try to hold together through midday, just as our winds truly increase. Wind chills will be down in the lower 20s and teens. Basically a blustery day.

The radar jut before 8 AM looked impressive, but it is the upper level energy that will help carry them over the mountains. Nothing well organized, but a chance for snow showers or a heavier squall developing through lunch time.
