January 27- It’s all about the temperatures! The band of rain that has been moving through overnight and this morning is just ahead of another push of cold air. The timing was just off. There has been some wet snow (falling but melting as it lands), on the back end, but it is not a big deal. The temperatures are still sliding from Tuesday’s high near 50°F and through the 30s. So these radar snap shots are just that. There will be a push of the freezing line through southern Pennsylvania and northern Maryland. But with school closings and delays, the traffic will be limited, and so would any icing.
Temperatures will stay chilly today, as a cold front pushed farther south. See the rain, with some wintry mix pass the Delmarva this morning. Forget any chatter of a follow up blizzard. I hope you have seen my reports since the weekend. All we have to look forward to is a warm up… a Big Thaw! In fact, temps will be well above normal into early February. So it should be at least a week until we see another hint of winter.
