Screen Shot2016-01-07 06_11_45It does seem like a cruel twist of fate for snow lovers after a few days of arctic air only to be followed by a rain storm. But that is the case, all based on the storm track. The good news for (some of ) us is that the track is shifting farther east, and eventually we will get in it with plenty of winter left.  Today, a cool wind off of the ocean will build in more clouds, but we look to the southwest for two events to bring rain this weekend. Some of it will be heavy.

So there will be a storm, and it will dump heavy snow in the Great Lakes, then the cold air will spill back into our region. Monday may look like last Monday with flurries and snow showers, then a slightly stronger push with more snow showers in the middle of next week. Here is the set up:

Temperature Outlook:

Yes, it will warm up with the rain this weekend, then temps crash net week. Do not think too much about the 40s next week. This is the modeling just defaulting to ‘average’ temps, but like this past surge, I expect it to end up a little colder than first thought.
