November 18 Weather MapThursday is the day we get our piece of the storm complex that hit the rest of the nation with severe weather and even a blizzard.  The part we get will be in a diminished form, but still hold its own. The timeline shows that the rain will be with us most of the day as waves of energy will sends pulses of thunderstorms, some might reach severe limits. The wind from the southeast is the prime direction to feeding moisture and energy into the storm system giving them there max potential. It may also slow the line of rain down, so it won’t clear out of central Maryland until late afternoon or evening.  The beaches will deal with it until nighttime.

Other concerns you might have will be the gusty winds from the southeast resulting in a Small Craft Advisory, some coastal Flooding on the Chesapeake, and white knuckles driving over the Bay Bridge. Winds are likely to gust over 30 mph. Some storms cells could push over 40 mph. The criteria for severe weather is winds over 58 mph.

We will get the pattern adjusting back to colder weather into the weekend. Yes, we might see snow flurries but the storm in the midwest is worth watching. Snow outlook has Chicago in a frenzy. Watching how the models behave and the net result there could give us insight into our winter ahead. I will explain more about that later.
