Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning. That is how the old adage goes, and there is some truth to it. Considering the rain moving through this morning after a spectacular dawn sky, it seems like it worked out today. In our part of the world, weather ‘usually’ moves from west to east. But if there is enough clearing on the eastern horizon as the leading clouds move in at sunrise, then the refracted sunlight spreads colors across the sky like this first photo from Ted Heinbuch III. You will see a lot of areas represented below.
I’ve compiled a gallery of the top 12 sunrise photos this morning in central Maryland as many early risers were greater to stunning scenery. Thanks to everyone who shared. Enjoy the show. Check this post for more on the quick moving rain timeline this morning.

If you have been counting, that was twelve. I wanted to add once more outside of central Maryland to make a bakers dozen. Here was the sunrise over Ocean City. I figured we had to salute to the Fire Department since the sky was on fire this morning. Thanks again to all.
