It was clear enough this morning to view the conjunction of the moon and a few planets in the eastern sky. The arrival of clouds will signal the next cold front, but the timing could determine how warm and how strong the storms will be. The range of afternoon temperatures will be from the mid 70s to near 80F, then an abrupt drop to the 60s (lows in the 40s) this weekend. That transition will have enough energy to produce thunderstorms, and there is a marginal risk that one or a few turn severe. Here is a quick look at the simulated radar to show the timeline. Below, a look at the temperatures to follow.
