We have a two more warm days ahead, but we are starting to think about it as borrowed time. Wednesday was our last day of the calendar year when Baltimore averages 70F. Today’s average is 69F and the almanac shows a drop of a degree every 3 days. But, we will be going the other way, and possibly near 80F Friday. But an abrupt drop to the 60s this weekend. The boundary in between will spark thunderstorms Friday. Below is a timeline for the rain and long range outlook showing the change in temperatures. If you are going to the Ravens game in Sunday, the weather still looks good!
The Storm Prediction Center has our region with a marginal risk that storm may turn severe. The timing at this point appears to be Friday evening and night. There will be showers in the morning, but most will stay on the north side. The main band of active weather arrives later on.
Here is a look at the rain timeline. Notice the arrival Friday evening, and push south on Saturday. The front will slow down or stall. A chilly, but dry breeze will build in from the north, but rain will linger around Ocean City and southeast Virginia during the day.
