Screen Shot2015-10-02 16_23_11Do you have plans this evening? How about Saturday? The Orioles postponed tonight’s game and many events have been cancelled. Heck, my son’s Sunday basketball was already cancelled just as a precaution. I’ve posted a radar simulation for this evening below.

The worst problems will be along the coast and bay from high tides and some sloshing. But heave y rain will fall as well. In general the total in central and southern Maryland by Sunday will be 1 to 3 inches, with much higher amounts southward. South Carolina will be the big losers with over 10 inches of rain and inevitable flooding.

Take your pick locally from a Areal Flood, Flash Flood, or Coastal Bay Flood potential. We are going to get rain and again this has nothing to do with Hurricane Joaquin just starting to move away from the Bahamas. Heavy rain will continue this evening, but we will get some breaks Saturday. See the simulation below as it might affect your plans.

Saturday:

It looks like the main, steady rain will move inland by morning. But we can not avoid more showers and heavier bands developing in the afternoon. So in essence there will be less rain over the weekend, but it will still be wet. Reminder that the onshore flow will keep the coastal flooding an issue on the Bay and ocean side.
