Screen Shot2015-08-24 19_45_35The line of showers with this cold front erupted as expected when interacting with the wind off of the Chesapeake in central Maryland. This pulsed the storms in the past hour as they crossed by Baltimore as suggested in my last simulated radar update. Cloud tops were estimated by Doppler Radar to reach over 45,000 Ft high, and producing pockets of hail as shown below.  The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for eastern Baltimore and southern Harford Counties extends to 8:30 PM for wind gusts over 60 mph and large hail possible. The storm is also producing rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour, and a Flash Flood Warning has been issued in the same area until 11PM.   See more images below.  The impact areas as noted by National Weather Service in the warning are:
