June 2015 has come to a close with one last round of rain and severe weather just to rub our noses in it. Instead of waiving the white flag, you might want a checkered flag hoping we crossed the finish line (credit Jim Schuyler for that line). While we had the assistance of a former tropical storm to help, we were stuck in a pattern that seemed to shift from drenched east Texas to our region. We even had Texas size hail and countless tornado threats. Storm upon storm continued to focus its energy of extreme weather on us and just about every slight risk for severe storms played out. That’s a big supporter for my Atmospheric Memory Theory. But within the numbers and thousands of photos I am still sorting through, one thing in particular stood out. The hyper-local focus of rain and extreme weather on one spot between Baltimore and Bel Air Maryland actually received more than the radar estimates. The archived Doppler Radar images show more below.
