In addition to our Flash Flood Watch, The Storm Prediction Center has our region in the Enhanced Risk for severe storms erupting this afternoon and evening. While we have less heat than the outbreak early this week, there is plenty of energy around this late season storm passing to our north. Central Maryland and metro Baltimore are in the prime target zone. This is a cold core Low, well out of season… The risk of storms with winds over 60 mph, large hail, and isolated tornadoes due to the spin or sheer in the atmosphere around that storm.  The rainfall outlook between 2 to 4 inches will put a tremendous strain on local waterways on top of 10 inches this month.  See the simulated radar, risk maps, and more below.
