Sunday September 26
If you noticed the clouds build up on Saturday afternoon, that was related to a cold front. It passed through dry, and now a new air mass is moving in. Expect a mostly sunny day with a slightly cooler breeze.
Our next chance for storms will be Tuesday and then next weekend. It’s that second round that should protect us from Major Hurricane Sam.
Tropical Snapshot
Hurricane Sam has winds of 145 mph this morning, making it a Category 4 storm. More on the expected track below.
Morning Satellite
We are in a dry air mass, with a mostly clear. There are high clouds from the Great Lakes the may streak across our sky this afternoon.

Snapshot: Saturday October 2
Next weekend a short wave (rain event) seen in the Jet Stream will help to keep Hurricane Sam well off the east coast.
Jet Stream
The steering currents appear to direct ‘Sam’ off of the East Coast. But this depends on the timing of the next Trough located over four region next weekend.
If we get that, it will protect us. But we need to watch these upper level patterns for any adjustment in timing and location that could point Sam…
