June 24 Weather Pleasant Today Then Heat Wave Begins This Weekend

Temperatures this morning are still cool and crisp, but not as chilly as yesterday morning. There are less 40s nearby, which I can’t believe I’m even saying in late June.

I get it, this is not summer weather, even though it feels great and has been a break on the air conditioning. If you want summer heat, it will be back this weekend. If we follow the accepted definition of a heat wave being more than three days in a row with high temps at 90ºF or above… Then we should start the count this weekend, into next week.

Check the numbers on your thermometer. If you have a home wether station that records the low, there is a good chance it dropped into the 40s or lower 50s if you are inland from the big cities.

Surface Weather

High Pressure continues to protect us from any active weather systems. There will be some disturbance off of the coast, which may kick up high surf and rip currents along the beaches this weekend.
